What Is an Automation Flow
An automation flow is a visual sequence of triggers, actions, and conditions that lets WA Orbit respond to customers automatically. Instead of writing rules in code, you connect blocks on a canvas — a customer message arrives, your flow decides what to do, and the conversation moves forward on its own.
Create a Flow
- 1
Open Automation Flows
From the dashboard, go to the Automations section and click "New Flow". You land on a blank visual canvas where you build your logic.
- 2
Choose a trigger
Pick what starts the flow, such as a new customer message, a keyword, a form submission, or a contact entering a tag. This is the entry point of your automation.
- 3
Add actions
Add actions like "Send message", "Add tag", or "Assign to agent". Chain multiple actions to build the customer journey you want.
- 4
Create branches
Use conditions to branch the flow. For example, if the message contains "order", send order help; otherwise, send general help. This makes the bot feel intelligent.
- 5
Test and activate
Preview the flow, test it with a sample conversation, then toggle it on. Your automation is now live and responding to customers automatically.
Flow Building Blocks
Triggers
The events that start a flow, such as an inbound message, a keyword match, or a contact signing up.
Actions
What the flow does — send a message, add a tag, update a contact, or hand off to a human agent.
Conditions
Logic that branches the flow based on the customer's message, tags, or profile data.
Tip
Start simple with a welcome flow that greets and qualifies, then add branches over time. A clean, working flow beats a complex one you never finish.
