Why Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to your login on top of your password. Even if someone steals your password, they cannot open your account without the one-time code. WA Orbit recommends 2FA for every account, especially owners and managers with billing access.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- 1
Open Security settings
Go to Settings > Security in the WA Orbit dashboard and click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication".
- 2
Choose your method
Select how you want to receive your code: an authenticator app or an SMS code to your mobile number. An authenticator app is recommended for the strongest security.
- 3
Scan the QR code
If you chose an authenticator app, scan the QR code shown on screen with your app. It will start generating time-based codes automatically.
- 4
Enter the verification code
Type in the current code from your authenticator app or the SMS you received, then click "Verify" to confirm the setup.
- 5
Save your recovery codes
WA Orbit will show a set of one-time recovery codes. Save these somewhere safe — they let you log in if you lose access to your authenticator app or phone.
- 6
Two-factor is active
From now on, logging in requires both your password and a fresh code. The Security page shows that two-factor authentication is enabled.
Logging In With 2FA
After your password, you will be asked for a verification code. You can also mark a trusted device so you do not have to enter a code on that device for 30 days. Your authentication method and recovery codes never change unless you reset them.
- Keep your recovery codes in a secure place, like a password manager
- Never share your code with anyone, even WA Orbit support
- If you lose your phone, use a recovery code to log in and re-enable 2FA
Tip
Print out your recovery codes and store them offline, or add them to your password manager. Without them, losing your phone could lock you out of your account.
