Understanding delivery reports

WA Orbit Support

What a Delivery Report Shows

After a campaign runs, the delivery report breaks down what happened to every message you sent. It tells you how many were delivered, how many were read, and how many failed — so you can measure each campaign's reach and spot problems in your list or messaging.

Report Statuses

Delivered

WhatsApp accepted the message and it reached the recipient's device. This is your base success metric.

Read

The recipient opened the chat and saw the message. Read rates are a strong indicator of engagement with your campaign.

Pending

The message is still in transit or the recipient is offline. Reports update automatically as statuses change.

Failed

The message could not be delivered — usually because the number is invalid, not on WhatsApp, or opted out. The report lists the reason per contact.

Using the Numbers

Open any past campaign to view its report with per-contact delivery detail. Use the insights to refine future sends:

  • High delivery but low read rates — try a stronger opening line
  • Many failures — clean up invalid numbers before your next send
  • Opt-out recipients are marked automatically so you don't keep contacting them

Tip

Compare delivery reports across similar campaigns. Consistent improvements in read and reply rates show your messaging and audience targeting are working.
